ABOUT ME

I am a Business Manager, and I specialize in the management of Dental Practices. I am responsible for all financial matters pertaining to these businesses. It is my job to ensure that everything dealing with finances is impeccably managed, and that all transactions are correct.

I came to this career by a circuitous route. I was born in Edmonton, the youngest son of Greek immigrants, and I grew up working in our family businesses which included several successful restaurants, and my main interest at that time was in the financial management of these businesses. In university I earned a BSc in Mathematics. In 2009 I began working for the CRA as a Taxpayer Services Agent. I was primarily involved in promoting taxpayer compliance through education and instruction. My purview involved everything from aiding in setting up corporations to dealing with issues regarding payroll and GST. After six years with CRA, I decided to use my education and experience to create a career in the dental field as a Business Manager.

In this role, I am responsible for every financial aspect of these practices, including deposit preparation and bank reconciliation, all facets of payroll (timesheets, paychecks, direct deposits, T4 preparation, issuing ROE’s), accounts payable and receivable, and the generation of monthly financial reports. Providing monthly and quarterly updates to the doctors is key in building a financially sound and successful practice. I also serve as the liaison for these clinics between banks and accountants for year end reporting. Additionally, I manage staff, vendor sourcing, and inventory control, as well as ensuring that all dental equipment and computers are properly maintained and up to date.

I truly enjoy working in this field, and it is a privilege to help my client’s practices grow and thrive. I believe that excellence in financial management is crucial to ensuring the ongoing success of these businesses.
